Steve Hooten, 68, of Bay, Arkansas, passed away March 11, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He was born on December 3, 1954, in Kennett, Missouri, and was the son of Hubert Luther and Ida "Jean" (Aliston) Hooten.

Steve was united in marriage to Janet Jett on July 3, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Hooten.

Steve never met a stranger. He loved Harley motorcycles and enjoyed building things in his shop. For over 40 years he drove a truck for various companies. He always enjoyed the annual St. Francis Picnic, where he helped volunteer for over 60 years.

Steve is survived by his wife Janet Hooten of Bay, Arkansas; mother, Ida "Jean" Kemper of Jonesboro, Arkansas; children: Justin Hooten and wife April of Campbell, Missouri, Autumn Earley of Kennett, Missouri, Letisha Scott and husband Brandy of Bay, Arkansas, Michelle Rounsaville and husband Glen of Brookland, Arkansas; grandchildren: Cheyenne, Cody, Grace, and Harleigh Hooten, Jaylee, Preslee, and Rylan Earley, Hunter and Briana Scott, Anna Cooper and husband Gary, Cody Rounsaville and wife Britany, Lex and Bricen Pounds and Storm Pierce; great-grandchildren: Abel and Keithlyn Rounsaville; step brothers: Bill Kemper and Ed Kemper; step sister, Sherry Nelson; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bruce Vinson officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Hunter Scott, Storm Pierce, Brandy Scott, Glen Rounsaville, Brock Russell, and Aaron Midkiff. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
