Thedford Franklyn Summers, 82, was born August 05, 1928 to John and Epal Summers in Evening Star, Arkansas. He died in Jackson, TN on May 17, 2011. He was prepared and ready to go to his eternal home to be with the love of his life, Jessie Lillian (Martin) Summers who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his daughter Frankie Loretta Smith and her husband Jeff of Paragould, Alan Summers and his wife Wilma of Browning, and Angie Doyle and her husband Brien of Charleston, SC. He had 8 grandchildren, 12 great grand children and 2 step grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Cecil Summers and Freddie Summers, both of Paragould. The family would like to thank the Bells Nursing Home staff for making Dad feel loved and cared for during his residency. We also thank the 6B nurses and doctors at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Services will be held graveside at Memorial Gardens in Paragould on Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 pm with Hoggard and Sons of Piggott handling the arrangements. Pallbearers are Faron Summers, Porter Summers, Ricky Grooms, Weldon Richardson, Trent Kisner, Jeff Smith and Sean Doyle. Honorary Pallbearers are JJ Kisner, John Ford, Nichole Bean, Ricky Flanery, Carolyn McBroom, Cecil Summers, Freddie Summers and Marilyn Pierceall. Franklin asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or the Arthritis Foundation of America.
