Obituary

Twila Kay McCord, 77, of Piggott, passed away, being clothed in God's mercy and grace, on May 24, 2026, at Rector Nursing and Rehab. Her family finds comfort knowing that she will forever be their guardian angel. She was born on January 20, 1949, in Piggott, and was the daughter of the late John and Lola (Kimble) McCord.
Twila was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She worked as a CNA for many years, faithfully caring for others with compassion, selflessness, and a strong work ethic. Those who knew Twila will remember her kind and forgiving spirit, her positive outlook on life, and the smile she so often carried. Even in the darkest times, she encouraged those around her to "hold on to the good," a reflection of the hopeful, peaceful, and steadfast spirit by which she lived. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures — white and gold colors, red nails, instant coffee and chocolate, singing, dancing, and laughing with those she loved. Her family lovingly remembers her listening to "Tiny Dancer," fluttering around like a ballerina with a joyful and sometimes silly spirit that brightened the lives of those around her. She loved talking about God, reading her Bible, and encouraging others with her strong and unwavering faith. Even in difficult seasons, Twila held on to the good and continued to trust in God with a steadfast heart. One of her favorite sayings was, "Take your hand out of the lion's mouth slowly," a phrase her family will always remember with a smile. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lanny McCord and Tony McCord; three sisters, Donna McCord, Diana Rowton, and Sula McCord; and one grandson, Ray Conyers of Paragould. Twila is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Jerry Reeves of Piggott; her children, Clint Greene of Paragould, Tonya Greene Tinsley of Paragould, Joe Greene and wife Regina of Heber Springs, Darian Greene of Paragould, and John Daniel Reeves of Piggott; grandchildren, Lindsey Greene, Savannah Tinsley, Kiersten Gracey, Brandon Greene, Masey Wilson, Kaden Reeves, and Lindyn Reeves; great-grandchildren, Tobias Joseph, Sophia Marie, Kensleigh Iris, Jaxson Henry, Jett Michael, Elliot Jayne, Everleigh Marie, Freya Rae, and Indigo Iris; two brothers, Thomas McCord and Sandy J. McCord; four sisters, Judith Wright, Linda Lawrence, Teresa Brown, and Lena Graddy; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
