Vernon Lee Noles, 96, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away October 3, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born on June 6, 1927, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Levi and Rosa (Book) Noles. Vernon was united in marriage to Betty Holifield on September 7, 1955, and to this union three children were born. Vernon was a member of First Christian Church in Piggott, Arkansas, for around 60 years where he served as Elder. He retired from Emerson Electric after 20 years of service. During his retirement years, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Noles; children, Elvis Noles and wife Carol of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Terri Vaughn and husband Alan of Piggott, Arkansas, and Tracy Gurley and husband Kevin of Piggott, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Charles Noles, Morgan Whitaker, Allison Howell, Tara Hoggard, Reese Gurley, Amber Hickerson and Ashley Hickerson; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Alan Vaughn officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas.  Pallbearer will be Brandon Hoggard, Reese Gurley, Keven Gurley, GW Howell, Rick Metheny, and Alan Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Lance. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
