Warren Porter Risener, 98, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away April 13, 2019, at Piggott General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
He was born on June 19, 1920, in Havana, Arkansas, and was the son of Solomon and Lula Blanch (Hood) Risener.
Warren was united in marriage to Ruth Sample on August 16, 1942, and to this union three children were born. He served in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He then began working as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. After his retirement from the Postal Service, Warren began preaching. The churches he served were located in Black Foot, Idaho, Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Alamogordo, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Risener; brothers, Herman Risener, Clifford Risener, Other Risener, and Joe Risener; sisters, Eupha Risener, Erma Ralaford, Wilma Sample, Lula Frye, Modena Risener, Imogean Larson, and his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Neva VanHook of Piggott, Arkansas: son, Noel Risener of Cleveland, Texas; daughter, Marla Risener of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa VanHook and Barbara VanHook; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Keith Sharp and Scott Rhumann officiating. Burial will be in Crockett Cemetery in Crockett, Texas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
