Welsey Thomas Slaton, 77, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away May 29, 2018, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on May 31, 1940, in Nimmons, Arkansas, and was the son of the late George R. and Mary Lou Stanley Slaton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Ann Slaton, on March 1, 2018. He is survived by his sons: Kurt Wayne Slaton of Piggott, Arkansas, Wesley Steven Slaton and wife Patricia of Dexter, Missouri, and Christopher Lee Slaton of Texas; grandchildren: Andrea Yount and husband Matt of Pollard, Arkansas, Alexandra Hall and husband J.T. of Weiner, Arkansas, Teyrsa Raye Medley and husband Aaron of Dexter, Missouri, Wesley Steven Slaton Jr. of Dexter, Missouri, Ann Marie Paige Slaton and Madison June Slaton, of Dexter, Missouri, and Macey Greenrod of Dexter, Missouri; numerous great grandchildren; four sisters: Zola Josephine White of Piggott, Arkansas, Barbara Jean Foltz and husband Gary of Burton, Michigan, Merkey Snyder and husband Sam of Piggott, Arkansas, and Nila Slaton of Piggott, Arkansas; a very special friend, Marie Chadwell; and other relatives and friends A visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas. A military service will be held Thursday beginning at 7:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, will be in charge of the arrangements.
