Obituary

William Olaf Anderson, 75 Bill Anderson, of Piggott, Arkansas, took his final ride into Heaven to be with the Lord. His last days were spent enveloped by the love of family as his soul departed from this Earth on February 13, 2022, from St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Bronco Billy, as he was known, was born to William and Rose Anderson on May 22, 1946, in Barnum, MN. Growing up on a farm in a small town, Billy craved more out of life and upon graduation, decided to enlist in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, Bill decided to make Hibbing, MN, his home. He was employed as Vice President of Francis Security as well as serving the community as a Police Officer until his retirement in 2001. Bronco thoroughly enjoyed his life on the Range, and rarely sat still. If you didn't catch him out cruising the countryside on his Harley, you might find him at the gun range, playing poker with the boys, or swapping some of his many stories with the fellas over coffee. He loved his country music, the sound of casino slots, fast cars and flirting with all his favorite ladies. More than anything though, Bill loved his time with family. He met and married the love of his life Lynnette (Lynn) Martinson in 1991, and nothing brought him more joy than watching their children grow. Life passes way too quickly he found, and he learned to cherish every single surprise visit, random phone call and little message from each of them. He loved his holiday get togethers and had a knack for putting his grandchildren to sleep in his arms. He was so proud to watch them grow and loved to share their stories with anyone who would listen. For his final chapter, Bill and Lynn made their way down to Arkansas to escape the Minnesota Winters and enjoy their retirement with family. They made many new friends and cherished the roles they took on at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church. Bill loved the Lord with all his heart, and he faithfully spent the last part of his life serving his church, reading his Bible, and building a relationship with God. He would spend hours praying for everyone he cared so much about, and loved to share his faith with those around him. He knew that when the Lord called his name, he would be ready. He was preceded in death by his father, William; his mother, Rose; his brother, Charlie; his sister, Mary; and his oldest daughter, Wanda. He is survived by his sister, Clara; his brother, Richard; his wife of 30 years, Lynnette Anderson; and their children Tina Lidke (Stephen), Karen (Harry) Bageant, Nichole Robnik, Brandon (Jennifer) Anderson, Carmen Sheehan, Anna (Jose) Gonzalez, Michelle (Nick) Softich, Jason Anderson, Roseanne Stephens (Jason), as well as 31 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service in Piggott, Arkansas, on Friday February 18, 2022, at 11 am at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, with a luncheon to follow at First Baptist Church on Main Street. There will be a service planned in Minnesota with the internment at a later date.
