William L. (Bill) Lovelace, 84, passed from this life at his home in Piggott, Arkansas, on November 24, 2015. Bill was born on March 6, 1931, in Steele, Missouri, to Ethel and Henry Lovelace. He became a member of the church of Christ at age 15 and preached the gospel for more than 64 years. Bill was strong in his faith and convictions. He did local work for congregations at Steele, Missouri, Kennett, Missouri, Parma, Missouri and Nimmons, Arkansas. He also spoke at gospel meetings and substituted for preachers in their absence. He was united in marriage to June Neel on June 27, 1959, and to this union two children were born. Bill graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, TN. A veteran of the Air Force, he served as a linguist specialist during the Korean War. Bill began his career with Ark-Mo Power Company in 1953 and completed 43 years of service before retiring from Associated Natural Gas. During that time, he served as sales supervisor, personnel counselor, personnel director, local manager, district manager and customer service director. He was also active in civic organizations including Kiwanis, Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Henry Lovelace; sister, Marjorie Crawford, and brother, Jerry Lovelace. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, June Lovelace of Piggott; daughter, LaNeel Lovelace of Jonesboro, Arkansas; son, William 'Larry' Lovelace, Jr. and wife Misti of Piggott, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Amanda Sale and husband Gerald of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brandon Lovelace and wife Christen of Piggott, Arkansas, Colby Lovelace of Piggott, Arkansas, Chloe Lovelace of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter, Izabelle; a great-grandson on-the-way; brother, Henry 'Sonny' Lovelace; and many other relatives and friends. Bill was a man of varied interests; he enjoyed golf, fishing, camping, woodworking, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed music and sang as a member of The Lamplighters quartet for many years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Dick Blackford officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Brandon Lovelace, Colby Lovelace, Gerald Sale, III, Geoffrey Norred, Ron Horton, and Chuck Sawyers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday, November 27, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
