William "Darren" Poe, 43, of Greenway, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Greenway. He was born October 9, 1966, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of William Harold Poe and Juanita Roberts Poe. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Tippitt Poe, daughter of Richard and Brenda Tippitt and Jim and Gloria Crittenden all of Piggott, Arkansas. To this union three children were born: Joshua Ryan Poe, Kristen Sharae Poe and Emily Ann Poe. Darren was preceded in death by his father, William Harold Poe and his grandparents: Manie and Maudie Poe and Abner and Elsie Roberts. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; three children, Joshua Ryan Poe, Kristen Sharae Poe, and Emily Ann Poe; one grandchild coming in August, Jacie Elizabeth; three sisters-in-law, Lori Parker, Kayli Elkins, and Becky Grissom; two brothers-in-law, Chris Grissom and Shawn Parker; two nieces; three nephews; grandparents-in-law, James and Bonnie Calhoun; and many other relatives and friends. Darren was an only child though considered his best friend of 30 years, Randy Hinkle, to be his brother. Darren was a wonderful husband, father, son, and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, attending church, and being with family and friends. To his family he was a precious jewel and to his friends he was a true caring and devoted friend, who they could count on in any situation. Because cancer does not discriminate, it stole him from our lives way too soon and are reassured that heaven now has a new shining star that will be there to welcome those he loved when we get to meet him there. Those of us that were fortunate enough to know him will miss his precious smile and a big heart, but take comfort in knowing we will be with him in heaven someday. Rest well precious angel. We love you and miss you. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Shawn Parker, Boyd Wicker, and Richard Tippitt. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers will be Randy Hinkle, James "JimBob" Diddle, Elvis Chavez, Leroy Chavez, Dennis Templeton, Virgil Broadway, Tim Roberts, and Kevin Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Strickland, Michael Parker, Kenneth Blackmon, David Blackmon, Bo Blackmon, Tray Blackmon, Blake Holifield, Ridge Holifield, Scott Corter, and Donald Calhoun. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
