Obituary

Willie Jo Metz, 61, of Madison, Mississippi, formerly of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012, peacefully at her home. She was born January 22, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Irene Arnold Janes. She was united in marriage to James 'Jim' Metz on April 17, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters: Marie Wong, Phyllis Janes, and Melba Cummins; two brothers: Phillip Janes and Eric Janes; and nephew, Jonson Janes. Jo was a retired nurse. Her hobbies included playing tennis and spending time with her seven beautiful granddaughters who were the joy of her life. Survivors include her husband, Jim Metz of Madison, Mississippi; daughter, Candy Williams of Piggott, Arkansas; sons: Sam Williams and wife Melissa of Piggott, Arkansas, and Travis Williams and wife Shannon of Piggott, Arkansas; two stepsons: Jason Metz and wife Jessica of Jackson, Mississippi, and Dusty Metz of Jackson, Mississippi; seven granddaughters: Ashley, Karsen, Molly, Cara Lea, Maggie, Kaitlin, and Kiley; sister, Karen Blackmore and husband Charley of Columbia, Missouri; her nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and her many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Shawn Parker officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Frank Staples, Dave Harrell, Jason Janes, Mike Cummins, Dusty Metz, and Jason Metz. Honorary pallbearers are Janet Dennis, Tonny Dement, Peggy Statler, Stacy Baldwin, Kathy Tompkins, Gloria Crittenden, and Donna Staples.
