Josephine was born on October 10, 1938, in Nimmons, Arkansas to the late George R. and Mary Lou (Stanley) Slaton and passed away October 12, 2018 at the age of 80 years and 2 days.
She was preceded in death by two of her siblings, sister, Phyllis Slaton; and brother, Wesley Slaton, both this year.
Josephine worked at Emerson Electric in Kennett, Missouri for years. Later in life, she returned to school and became a paraprofessional where she worked at Lake Road Elementary School in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Survivors include her sons, Forrest Mitchell (Olivia) Taylor, II of Piggott, Arkansas, David Anthony Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Gregory Paul (Teresa) Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandchildren, Major Forrest (Amanda) Taylor, III, George Robert (Julie) Taylor, David Taylor, Gregory Allen Taylor, Dustin Paul Taylor, Falon Nicole Taylor, Zachary Matthew Taylor, Killian Payne Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Gary) Foltz of Burton, Michigan, Merkey (Sam) Snyder of Piggott, Arkansas, Nila Slaton of Piggott, Arkansas; and several relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 15, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas. Burial is in Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
